若主不稍減其日、則無一人得救、惟天主為其所救之選民、已稍減其日、

若不是主减少那日子，凡有血气的，总没有一个得救的；只是为主的选民，他将那日子减少了。

若不是主减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；但是为了他所拣选的选民，他将那些日子减少了。

主曰、於斯全地、三分之二必滅絕死亡、三分之一猶可生存、我將使三分之一、若投於火中、若投於火中或作如由火中而經鍊之如銀、試之如金、彼籲我名、我必應允、我必曰、彼乃我民、彼必曰、耶和華乃我之天主、

其中所遺、雖僅十分之一、亦歸滅絕、然猶存聖裔、為斯地之根本、如栗樹橡樹、雖經斬伐、根本尚存、或作譬彼栗樹橡樹斬伐枝條尚留根株聖種猶存為斯地之根本亦復若是

彼若非恆於不信、亦必見接、因天主能復接之也、性屬野油果樹、爾由之被斫、而逆性見接於佳油果樹、況彼性屬油果樹者、不復見接於本油果樹乎、

今時亦然、猶有遺留之人、乃由恩寵蒙選者、若由恩則非由功、否則恩不復為恩、若由功則非由恩、否則功不復為功、是則何也、以色列人所求者未得、惟蒙選者得之、其餘則剛愎其心矣、

若萬有之主、不為我儕少有所遺、則必如所多瑪然、與俄摩拉無異矣、
