The expert in the law replied,“ The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him,“ Go and do likewise.”

The authority on the law replied,“ The one who felt sorry for him.” Jesus told him,“ Go and do as he did.”

He said,“ The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him,“ You go, and do likewise.”

The man replied,“ The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said,“ Yes, now go and do the same.”

“ The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said,“ The one who showed compassion to him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said,“ He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do likewise.”

And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

“ The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him,“ Go and do the same.”

And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

The expert in religious law said,“ The one who showed mercy to him.” So Jesus said to him,“ Go and do the same.”

He said,“ He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do likewise.”

爾曹知我主耶穌基督之恩、彼原富、為爾成貧、使爾因其貧而為富、

爾若惟愛愛爾者、何惠之有、罪人亦愛愛己者、爾若惟善待善待爾者、何惠之有、罪人亦如是行也、爾若借與人而望其償、何惠之有、罪人亦借與罪人、欲其如數以償也、惟爾愛敵而善待之、借與人而不望償、則爾之賞大、且將為至上者之子、蓋彼施仁於負恩與不善者、是以爾當憐憫、如爾父之憐憫然、

爾曹見召、乃為此也、蓋基督亦為爾曹受苦、遺模於爾、使爾踐其跡以行、

禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾以薄荷、茴香、芹菜、十輸其一、但律法之尤重者、即義與仁與信、爾則遺之、此爾所當行者也、而彼亦不可遺、

世人乎、主曾諭爾何為善、主向爾所欲無他、惟欲爾行公義、好施矜恤、虔敬虔敬或作謙遜以奉事爾之天主、○

我今示爾模範、使爾效我所行於爾者而行之、我誠告爾、僕不大於主、奉遣者不大於遣之者、爾若知此而行、則有福矣、

我所悅者、乃仁義、並非祭祀、識天主之道、勝於火焚祭、識天主之道勝於火焚祭或作識天主勝於獻火焚祭

能與諸聖徒共識其長闊高深、且知基督莫測之愛、得蒙天主充滿之恩充滿爾心、

侮慢友朋者則為有罪、愛憐貧乏者則為有福、

即如人子來、非以役人、乃役於人、且舍其生以贖眾也、○

當以愛而行、如基督愛我儕、為我儕舍身、獻己於天主、為馨香之祭、

及誠信之證者、自死中首先復活者、為天下萬王之元首者耶穌基督、得恩寵平康、

天主之誡乃此、即信其子耶穌基督之名、且循其所命我者而彼此相愛、守天主之誡者、恆居天主內、天主亦恆居其內、天主賜我聖神、我儕由是而知天主恆居我內、

惟見耶穌稍卑於天使、因死之苦、冠以尊榮、致其由天主恩為眾人受死、受死原文作嘗死萬物所本、萬物所歸者、欲引多子得榮、遂使救之之君、受苦難而得純全、宜也、蓋使成聖者、及得成聖者、皆出於一、故稱之為兄弟、不以為恥、彼曰、我將宣爾名於我兄弟間、頌爾於會中、又曰、我仰賴天主、又曰、我與天主所賜我之眾子在此、眾子既有血肉之身、彼亦有血肉之身、致可以死而滅秉死之權者、即魔也、且解釋因畏死而一生屈服者、
