彼乃吞滅不育之婦、惡待媰孀、

當惡人存日、無子者遭其虐遇、無夫者受其摧折。

彼虐遇未生子之婦、不善待嫠婦、

They prey on the barren and childless woman, and to the widow they show no kindness.

They mistreat women who aren’t able to have children. They aren’t kind to widows.

“ They wrong the barren, childless woman, and do no good to the widow.

They cheat the woman who has no son to help her. They refuse to help the needy widow.

They prey on the childless woman who is unable to conceive, and do not deal kindly with the widow.

He wrongs the infertile woman, And does no good for the widow.

He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow.

And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb.So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.

They drive away the donkey of the fatherless; They take the widow’s ox as a pledge.

You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of the fatherless was crushed.
