說完，就大聲呼喊：「拉撒路，出來！」那死者就出來了，手腳都纏著布條，臉上也包著布。耶穌對他們說：「給他解開，讓他走！」

耶穌拉著那女孩的手，說：「孩子，起來！」她的靈魂就回來了，她立刻站了起來。耶穌吩咐人給她東西吃。

上帝叫死人復活，你們為什麼認為不可信呢？

亞伯拉罕在上帝面前是我們所有人的父，正如聖經上說：「我已經立你為萬族之父。」他所信的上帝是能夠使死人復活、使無變有的上帝。他在毫無指望的情況下仍然滿懷盼望地相信上帝的應許，因而成為「萬族之父」，正如上帝的應許：「你的後裔必這麼多」。那時他將近百歲，知道自己身體如同已死，撒拉也過了生育的歲數，但他的信心仍然沒有動搖。

因為你把管理世人的權柄賜給了祂，使祂可以將永生賜予你交託給祂的人。

以色列王讀完信後，就撕裂衣服說：「難道我是上帝嗎？我能操縱人的生死嗎？這人竟叫我醫好一個人的痲瘋病！他只是想找藉口攻打我。」

以利沙進了屋子，看見孩子死了，躺在床上，就關上門，向耶和華祈禱。禱告後，他上床伏在孩子身上，口對口，眼對眼，手對手，孩子的身體漸漸變暖了。然後，以利沙起來在房內來回走了一趟，又上床伏在孩子身上。孩子打了七個噴嚏，便睜開了眼睛。

他三次伏在孩子身上，求告耶和華說：「我的上帝耶和華啊，求你讓這孩子活過來吧。」
