我知道你顽梗，有铁一般的颈项，铜一般的额头。

他们却掩耳不听，一意孤行，任意行恶，越来越坏。

他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

我的子民却不肯听我的话，以色列不愿意顺从我。因此我就任凭他们顽固不化，为所欲为。但愿我的子民肯听从我，以色列人肯遵行我的道。

他们却不理会，背过身去，充耳不闻，心如铁石，不遵从律法，也不遵从万军之耶和华借着祂的灵指示从前的先知所说的话。因此，万军之耶和华非常愤怒。

我曾给她悔改的机会，她却不肯悔改、离弃自己的淫乱行为，所以我必叫她卧病在床。那些与她有染的人若不悔改，也必遭受极大的苦难。

耶路撒冷的房屋和犹大君王的宫殿将被玷污，像陀斐特一样，因为他们在房顶向天上的万象烧香，向别的神明奠酒。’”

他们重蹈祖先的覆辙，不听从我的话，跟从、祭拜别的神明。以色列和犹大都违背了我与他们祖先立的约。

真希望你当时肯听我的命令！那样，你的平安必像滚滚河水，你的公义必如滔滔海浪；

然而，他们却不听不理，人人凭自己顽固的恶念行事。因此，我要使约中的一切咒诅临到他们，因为我吩咐他们遵守这约，他们却拒绝遵守。”
