烈日以曝之、毒熱以薰之、而草槁矣、而花落矣、而其美亡矣。富貴之終歸衰落亦復如是。

For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

主使之立於滑地、使之陷於沈淪、頃刻毀滅、驚駭消亡、歸於無有、主興起、輕視其浮華、如人睡醒、藐視幻夢、

彼倚賴金寶、矜誇多財、人實不能贖己之兄弟、亦不能為彼奉贖金於天主、贖其生命、價值昂貴、永不得成、不能使之永久存活、不見朽壞、賢者必死、愚者昧者、亦必滅亡、將貨財留於他人、此乃常見之事、其心中以為家必永存、房宅必留至萬代、聲名必傳在世間、豈知人在榮華、不能永久、無異滅亡之畜類、此乃彼之愚昧道途、後世之人、仍以其言為然、細拉、彼如群羊、驅入示阿勒、示阿勒見六篇五節小註為死亡所牧、清晨必歸正直人管轄、必從己之居處降於示阿勒、形容必毀壞其中、

此實大患、其來若是、其去亦若是、勞碌無益、如捕風耳、

以法蓮人沈湎於酒、其邑建於膏腴平原之岡、狀如華冠、華美莊嚴、遂以自誇、不知實似將殘之花、禍哉禍哉、或作以法蓮建都於高岡在膏腴之谷中狀若華冠其人沈湎於酒心高志傲不知其榮如將殘之花禍哉禍哉

不饑不渴、炎熱與烈日不之擊、蓋憫之者必導之、引至水泉、

其狀甚華美莊嚴、勢若花將殘之邑、即建於膏腴平原岡之邑、必如夏前初熟之無花果、凡見之者、適摘於手即食之、

則牧長顯現之時、爾可得不壞之榮冕、
