敵之城垣、變為荒蕪、敵之宅第、盡為邱墟、牛犢皆牧於彼、或寢或訛、嚙蒭蕘而食萌櫱、

毀其城垣、鍵其宅第、無人得入、

城中荒蕪、邑門被毀、

爾使城垣、變為瓦礫、異邦都邑、一圮不振、

昔巴比倫富甲萬邦、為迦勒底人所尊、厥後必為上帝所敗、若所多馬蛾摩拉然。自茲以後、代無居人、亞喇伯人不張其幕、牧者不使羊憩息、其境為野獸所藏伏、其室為鴟鴞所棲止、雌鴕鳥居處於斯、魑魅踴躍於斯。暴獸嗥於深宮、野犬遊於華殿、其時將屆、其日伊邇。

爾見軍環耶路撒冷、則知其亡無日矣、

俾野驢解渴、百獸得飲兮、

鵜鶘毛蝟聚處焉、鷺鷥烏鴉棲止焉、我循準繩、以滅以東、在牧伯貴介中、欲簡一人為王、實難其選、荊棘叢生於宮闕、蒺藜萌長於城垣、蝮蛇鴕鳥、居處其中、暴獸野犬遇於途、魑魅魍魎嘷於野、妖狐山魈、據之為寧宇、有蛇疾行若箭、穴於其所、涵淹卵育、雌雄之鸇鳥、翔集於彼、我耶和華之書、爾當詳察、所載若合符節、維禽與獸、各具雌雄、我有定命、使之聚處、以成余志、我畫地為區、若為之掣籤、使禽獸孳育於以東、生成不已焉。

我曰主歟、將至何時、曰、迨乎城垣傾圮、土地荒蕪、室廬寂寞、無人居之、

萬有之主耶和華諭示於我曰、彼之華堂廣廈、悉變荒蕪、不留一人、

燬耶和華殿、王宮宦第、及耶路撒冷民室、

耶和華使斯土荒蕪、國家傾覆、居民離散、若庶人若祭司、若僕若主、若婢女、若主母、若鬻諸人、若購於人、若貸人以金、若借人之金、若得子母、若納子母者、俱必流離失所、斯地必為邱墟、刧掠殆盡、耶和華已言之矣。
