The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the junipers equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches— no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty.

The cedar trees in my garden were no match for it. The juniper trees could not equal its limbs. The plane trees could not compare with its branches. No tree in my garden could match its beauty.

耶和華上帝植囿於東方之伊甸、置所造之人於其間、耶和華上帝使地生諸樹、觀可娛目、食可適口、當囿之中、有生命之樹、及別善惡之樹、

我擲之於陰府、與歸墓者相偕、列國聞其下墜之聲、靡不震動、伊甸諸木、利巴嫩之佳樹、凡得灌溉者、咸受慰於地之深處、

爾之榮耀威嚴、伊甸諸木、孰可比擬、然必偕同伊甸諸木、下墜地之深處、爾必偃於未受割、而戮於刃者之中、法老及其民眾若此、主耶和華言之矣、

拉伯沙基謂之曰、其告希西家、大王亞述王云、爾所恃者何耶、爾言有謀有勇、足以為戰、我則謂此乃虛語耳、爾今恃誰而叛我、爾恃埃及、彼乃折葦之杖、人若賴之、必刺其手、凡恃埃及王法老者若是、若告我曰、我恃我之上帝耶和華、希西家非廢其崇邱與壇、命猶大及耶路撒冷人、於此一壇崇拜乎、今請以質、予我主亞述王、若能備斯騎馬者、我則予爾馬二千、不然、曷能禦我主之僕、軍長至微之一、豈恃埃及、得其車騎耶、今我上攻此地而滅之、豈無耶和華之旨乎、耶和華乃命我曰、上攻此地而滅之、○以利亞敬與舍伯那約亞、謂拉伯沙基曰、請以亞蘭方言語爾僕、我儕識之、勿以猶大方言、使城上之民聞之、拉伯沙基曰、我主遣我、豈以此言僅告爾主及爾乎、非亦告坐於城上、將同爾食己矢、飲己溺之人乎、拉伯沙基遂立、用猶大方言、大聲呼曰、爾曹其聽大王亞述王之言、王曰、勿為希西家所欺、彼不能救爾、勿聽希西家使爾恃耶和華曰耶和華必救我、此城必不付於亞述王手、勿聽希西家、蓋亞述王曰、爾當與我修好、出而降我、則可各食己之葡萄、及無花果、各飲己井之水、迨我來遷爾至一地、如爾故土、有穀有酒、有食品、有葡萄園、爾其慎之、免受希西家之勸曰、耶和華必救我儕也、夫列邦之神、有一曾拯其國、脫於亞述王手乎、

我見惡人勢盛、張大如青葱之樹、在其本土兮、

惟其意不如是、其心不思此、乃欲肆行敗壞、翦滅多邦、曰、我之牧伯、非皆為王乎、迦勒挪非若迦基米施乎、哈馬非若亞珥拔乎、撒瑪利亞非若大馬色乎、我手已及偶像之國、其雕像、越於耶路撒冷與撒瑪利亞之偶像、我所行於撒瑪利亞、與其偶像者、豈不亦行於耶路撒冷、與其偶像乎、○主於錫安山、及耶路撒冷、既畢乃事、必討亞述王心驕之行為、目高之狂傲、彼曰、我之所為、乃以己手之力、己心之智、我固聰慧、曾移列國之界、虜其貨財、猶如強者傾覆居位之人、我得列國之貨財、若取諸巢、我畧全地、若拾遺卵、無有鼓翼、啟口鳴噪者也、○

亞述列王之待諸國、施行翦滅、爾既聞之、而爾能得免乎、我祖所滅之邦、若歌散、哈蘭、利色、及居提拉撒之伊甸族、彼之諸神、曾救之乎、哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音邑之王、希拿王、以瓦王、均安在哉、
