I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.“ So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things:

I approached an angel who was standing there. I asked him what all these things really meant.“ So he explained to me what everything meant.

長老中有一位問我：“這些身穿白袍的是誰？他們是從哪裡來的呢？”我對他說：“我主啊，你是知道的。”他告訴我：“這些人是從大患難中出來的。他們用羊羔的血，把自己的衣袍洗潔白了。

有火像河湧出，烈火從他面前冒出；事奉他的有千千，侍立在他面前的有萬萬。審判已經開始，案卷都展開了。

長老中有一位對我說：“不要哭！看哪，那從猶大支派出來的獅子，大衛的根，他已經得勝了，他能夠展開那書卷，拆開它的七印。”

那與我說話的天使離去的時候，另有一位天使迎著他來，

他向我解釋，說：“但以理啊！現在我來，要使你有智慧，有聰明。

他對我說：“大蒙眷愛的但以理啊！你應當留意我要對你說的話。你只管站起來，因為我現在奉差遣到你這裡來。”他和我說這話的時候，我就戰戰兢兢地站起來。他又對我說：“但以理啊！不要懼怕，因為自從你第一天決心要明白這些事，又在你的神面前謙卑自己，你禱告的話已蒙垂聽了；我就是因你禱告的話而來的。

我夜間觀看，看見有一個人騎著紅馬，站在低窪地上的番石榴樹中間；在他後面還有些紅色、栗色和白色的馬。我就問：“我主啊，這些是甚麼？”那與我說話的天使對我說：“我會指示你這些是甚麼。”那站在番石榴樹中間的人回答：“這些就是耶和華所差遣在遍地巡邏的。”那些騎士回報那站在番石榴樹中間的耶和華使者，說：“我們已經在遍地巡邏；看見全地都安定，一片平靜。”

我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問他：“這個關於除掉常獻的祭，和引致毀壞的罪過，以及踐踏聖所和聖民（“聖民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一個字）的異象，要到幾時呢？”他對我說：“要到二千三百個晚上和早晨，聖所才得潔淨。”我但以理看見了這異象以後，就想明白它的意義；忽然有一位外貌像人的，站在我面前。我又聽見從烏萊河兩岸之間，有人的聲音呼叫著說：“加百列啊！你要使這人明白這異象。”

我舉目觀看，看見有一個人身穿細麻衣，腰束烏法純金的帶。他的身像水蒼玉，面貌像閃電的樣子，眼睛像火把，手臂和腿像擦亮的銅那麼閃耀，說話的聲音像群眾喊叫的聲音。

我但以理觀看，看見另有兩個天使，一個站在河岸的這邊，一個站在河岸的那邊。有一個問那身穿細麻衣、站在河水以上的人，說：“這些奇異的事的結局幾時才到呢？”

“萬軍之耶和華這樣說：‘你若遵行我的道，謹守我的吩咐，你就必治理我的家，看守我的院子，我必賜你特權，可以在這些侍立在我面前的使者中間自由出入。
