‘ The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth.

He said,‘ The four large animals stand for four kings. The kings will appear on the earth.

耶穌回答：“我的國不屬於這世界；如果我的國屬於這世界，我的臣僕就要作戰，使我不至被交給猶太人。不過，我的國不是這世上的。”

“有四隻巨獸從海中上來，形狀各不相同。第一隻獸像獅子，卻有鷹的翅膀。我一直在觀看，看見牠的翅膀被拔去，牠從地上被舉起來，兩腳像人一樣直立在地上；又有人的心給了牠。

他說：“看哪！我要告訴你在神忿怒審判的後期必要發生的事，因為這是有關那末後的定期的。你所看見那有兩個角的公綿羊，就是瑪代和波斯王。那多毛的公山羊就是希臘王；那兩眼之間的大角就是第一個王。至於代替那折斷了的角，在牠原來的地方長出來的四個角，就是四個要從他的國中興起的王國，只是沒有他的權勢。

耶和華啊！求你用手救我脫離世人，脫離那些只在今生有分的世人。求你用你為他們儲存的充滿他們的肚腹，使他們的兒女都可以飽嘗，他們還有剩餘的留給他們的子孫。

我又看見一隻獸從海裡上來，有十角七頭，十角上戴著十個皇冠，七頭上有褻瀆的名號。

王啊！你是萬王之王，天上的神已經把國度、權柄、能力和尊榮都賜給你；也把散居在各處的世人、田野的走獸和空中的飛鳥，都交在你手裡，使你管理這一切。你就是那金頭。在你以後，另一國將興起，不及於你。後有第三國，就是那銅的，要統治全地。還有第四國，堅強如鐵，因為鐵能砸碎擊破萬物；鐵怎樣壓碎一切，那國也要照樣砸碎一切。

我又看見另一隻獸從地裡上來。牠有兩個角，好像羊羔，說話好像龍。
