吾主必全我於諸惡、而保我之清白、以歸天國也。願主享受光榮、永世靡暨、心焉祝之。

願和平之天主、躬自成全爾之聖德、保爾心靈形體之純粹無疵、以迨吾主耶穌基督之來臨。

吾所為心禱者無他、惟望爾之仁愛與日俱進、發為真知卓見、俾識至善之所在、廓然無疑、馴至誠實無妄、心跡雙清、以俟基督來臨之日；同時仰賴耶穌基督滿結仁義之實、以顯揚天主。

身處逆境而能堅忍自守者乃為有福之人。蓋經試練而不渝者；必獲生命之冠、此固天主所許於其孝愛之子也。

爾等與異邦人雜處、尤宜慎自檢點、勉立善表、務使謗爾者見爾善行、而頌揚天主於眷顧之日。

以期優遊於光天化日之下乎？醉生夢死、沉湎酒色、嫉妒鬥狠、皆非所宜。

蓋吾人作事、務求光明磊落、上可對主、下可對人也。

若能以吾之弱、證爾之強；此正吾之所樂也。蓋吾所為馨香禱祝者欲見爾曹之成完人耳。

予非求父令其脫世、第求保其湼而不緇。

免我墮誘惑、拯我出咎殃。

故吾人立身處世、在在欲自表為天主之忠僕、事事堅忍；故患難也、匱乏也、困苦也、

蓋稱許自己者、未足嘉也；惟為天主所許、斯可嘉已。

頗聞人言：『彼之書札、雖雷厲風行；而彼之形軀、則柔弱無能、言語更無足輕重。』

蓋天主已使我輩為其宗徒者、似成為最卑賤之人、一若擬死之囚、又似優伶演劇於世、以博人神之一笑者。吾儕已為基督之故、而成斯世之狂徒矣；爾等則優遊基督之中、而聰明自若也。吾儕弱而爾等強、爾等享榮而吾儕蒙辱。吾儕至今猶忍饑耐渴、衣衫襤褸、被毆受撻、無家可歸、躬自操作、不遑寧處；被人詬誶、我則福之；被人凌虐、我則耐之；被人譭謗、我則禱之。而吾儕至今猶為天下之所唾棄、眾污之所歸集也！

蓋分派立異之事、在所不免；偽者既起、則真者彌著矣。

以怨報怨、庸有當乎？立身當光明磊落、務求上可對主、下可對人；
