The Lord roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth quake. But the Lord is a refuge for His people, And a stronghold for the sons of Israel.Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, Dwelling on Zion, My holy mountain. So Jerusalem will be holy, And strangers will no longer pass through it.

Like flying birds so the Lord of armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and save it; He will pass over and rescue it.

Perhaps the Lord will look on my misery and return good to me instead of his cursing this day.”

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.

But you will not go out in a hurry, Nor will you go as fugitives; For the Lord will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

And the Lord said,“ I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their outcry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.

Look at Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, an undisturbed settlement, A tent which will not be folded; Its stakes will never be pulled up, Nor any of its ropes be torn apart.But there the majestic One, the Lord, will be for us A place of rivers and wide canals On which no boat with oars will go, And on which no mighty ship will pass—For the Lord is our judge, The Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; He will save us—

On that day the Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them on that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord before them.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and revolted against him.

then the Lord will create over the entire area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.And he took hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;and he threw him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will live in security.

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time and forever.

And after some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will come to the king of the North to reach an agreement. But she will not keep her position of power, nor will he remain with his power, but she will be given up, along with those who brought her in and the one who fathered her as well as he who supported her in those times.But one of the descendants of her line will arise in his place, and he will come against their army and enter the fortress of the king of the North, and he will deal with them and prevail.

In his days Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt went up to the king of Assyria at the river Euphrates. And King Josiah went to meet him, and when Pharaoh Neco saw him he killed him at Megiddo.

Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.So I said,“ Where are you going?” And he said to me,“ To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.”And behold, the angel who had been speaking with me was going out, and another angel was going out to meet him.And he said to him,“ Run, speak to that young man there, saying,‘ Jerusalem will be inhabited as open country because of the multitude of people and cattle within it.But I,’ declares the Lord,‘ will be a wall of fire to her on all sides, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”“ You there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord,“ because I have spread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord.“ You, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.”For the Lord of armies says this:“ After glory He has sent me against the nations that plunder you, for the one who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.For behold, I am going to wave My hand over them so that they will be plunder for their slaves. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that the Lord of armies has sent Me to you.And the Lord will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.“ Be silent, all mankind, before the Lord; for He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

And there will no longer be for the house of Israel a painful thorn or a hurtful thorn bush from any surrounding them who despised them; then they will know that I am the Lord God.”‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and show Myself holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will live on their land which I gave to My servant Jacob.

Then the latter will raise a great multitude, but that multitude will be handed over to the former.When the multitude is carried away, his heart will be haughty, and he will cause tens of thousands to fall; yet he will not prevail.For the king of the North will again raise a greater multitude than the former, and after an interval of some years he will press on with a great army and much equipment.“ Now in those times many will rise up against the king of the South; the violent ones among your people will also raise themselves up to fulfill the vision, but they will fall down.Then the king of the North will come, pile up an assault ramp, and capture a well fortified city; and the forces of the South will not stand their ground, not even their choicest troops, for there will be no strength to make a stand.But he who comes against him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to withstand him; he will also stay for a time in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand.

“ And at the end time the king of the South will wage war with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them, and pass through.He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab, and the foremost of the sons of Ammon.Then he will reach out with his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape.But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels.But rumors from the East and from the North will terrify him, and he will go out with great wrath to eliminate and annihilate many.And he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

As for both kings, their hearts will be intent on evil, and they will speak lies to each other at the same table; but it will not succeed, because the end is still to come at the appointed time.Then he will return to his land with much plunder; but his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action and then return to his own land.“ At the appointed time he will return and come into the South, but this last time it will not turn out the way it did before.

To Egypt, concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates at Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them; and now come, I will send you to Egypt.’

This is the message which the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to strike the land of Egypt:
