是那永生的。我曾经死过，可是看哪，我现在活着，直到永永远远，并且拿着死亡和阴间的钥匙。

然而，从亚当到摩西，死亡掌了权，甚至那些没有按亚当过犯的样式犯罪的人，也在死的权下。这亚当是以后要来的那一位的象征。

而这一位为赎罪孽献上了一个永远的祭物，就在神的右边坐下了，此后一直等候他的敌人被放在他的脚下做脚凳。

故此，他也能彻底拯救那些藉着他来到神面前的人；因为他一直活着，为他们代求。

神却解除了死亡的痛苦，使他复活，因为他本来就不能被死亡辖制。事实上，大卫指着他说：‘我常常看见主在我面前；因他在我的右边，我就不至于摇动。为此我内心欢喜，口舌快乐，并且我的肉身也要安居在盼望中。因为你不会把我的灵魂撇弃在阴间，也不会让你的圣者经历腐朽。你让我明白了生命之道，使我在你面前充满喜乐。’

所以，孩子们既然同属血肉之体，他也照样同有一样的血肉之体，为要藉着死亡来废除那掌握死亡权势的——就是魔鬼，并且释放那些因怕死而终生被束缚为奴役的人。

他成为祭司，不是照着有关肉体条例的法则，而是照着那不能毁灭的生命大能，
