不但如此，我們竟拿苦難而歡喜誇勝呢，因為知道苦難能生出堅忍，

不僅如此，我們也以患難誇耀，因為我們知道患難生出忍耐，

不第此也、亦樂於患難、蓋知患難生強忍、

不第此、所喜又在患難、蓋知患難生強忍、

不第此也、亦以患難為樂、以患難為樂或作因患難而誇因知患難生忍耐、

不寧惟是、吾人雖處患難、心中恆有至樂。蓋知患難所以生堅忍、

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness;

And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only[ so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

And He said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.“ And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”

Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?As it is written:“ For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

By your patience possess your souls.

Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Are they ministers of Christ?— I speak as a fool— I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.

For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
