夫天主豈僅猶太人之天主、而非列邦之天主乎？固亦列邦之天主也。

难道神只作犹太人的神吗？不也是作外邦人的神吗？是的，也作外邦人的神。

难道上帝只是犹太人的吗？不也是外邦人的吗？是的，他也是外邦人的上帝。

难道神只是犹太人的吗？不也是外邦人的吗？是的，他也是外邦人的神。

难道上帝只是犹太人的上帝吗？祂不也是外族人的上帝吗？祂当然也是外族人的上帝。

夫上帝獨猶太人之上帝乎、非亦異邦人之上帝乎、誠亦異邦人之上帝也、

曰、上帝獨猶太人之上帝乎、抑異邦人之上帝乎、曰、亦異邦人之上帝也、

天主獨猶太人之天主乎、亦非異邦人之天主乎、誠亦異邦人之天主、

Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,

Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of Gentiles? Yes, he is their God too.

斯旨無他、即因福音之傳、而萬邦之人、已得於基督耶穌庇蔭之下、同為嗣子、融成一體、共享恩諾是已。

亦無間於猶太人與希臘人也。真主惟一、乃天下萬民之所共戴；凡有求之者、未有不被其豐恩厚澤者也。

眾聞彼陳述至此、高呼曰：『此人實無可生之理、地所不載、盍共除之！』

主曰：『第往、斯人乃吾特選之器、將以吾名播諸異族與列王、以及義塞子孫。

得在異邦人中充任基督耶穌之役、不得不勉盡司鐸之職、以弘宣基督之福音、務使異邦人受聖神之感化、而超凡入聖、俾我獻之於天主之前、而蒙其悅納。

復曰：『依諸經所載、基督固當受難、第三日自死者中復活、俾痛悔赦罪之道、得藉其名而傳於世、始自耶路撒冷以達萬邦。

此亦所以使亞伯漢之福澤、藉基督耶穌之身、而普被萬民、俾吾人得因信德而領受所許之聖神也。

「我乃亞伯漢之天主、依灑格之天主、雅各伯之天主。」夫天主非死者之天主、乃生者之天主也。』

既云新人、則不復分異邦人與猶太人、割禮中人與非割禮中人、化外人與西古提人、為奴之人與自由之人矣。蓋基督包羅萬有、而寓乎萬有也、

予之拔汝於眾民萬邦者、

若其顛墜而成舉世之福、其隕越而為萬邦之利、則其復興之為福更當何如！吾坦率告爾異邦人、吾為傳道於異邦人之宗徒也；

爾其往勸萬民、服膺聖教、因父及子及聖神之名、為之行洗。

然信德既至、則吾人不復受蒙師之監督；蓋爾等皆因信仰耶穌基督、而成天主之子女矣。爾中凡已領洗而歸依基督者、實已服膺基督、有如衣之被體焉。故無論猶太人也、希臘人也、奴也主也、男也女也、悉在基督耶穌之身、融為一體矣。夫爾等既屬基督即為亞伯漢之裔、亦即承恩諾之嗣子也。

赫赫令譽。與日偕存。悠悠人世。賴以蒙恩。萬邦作頌。百祿萃身。

求主垂憐。福我蒸民。求主開顏。光照世人。

且從猶太及天下萬國之中、甄而別之、召而集之；果有何不可乎？天主於阿塞亞書中亦云：『本非我子民、我將子民之。未蒙寵愛者、我將寵愛之。』又曰：『昔者但聞爾非吾民者、異日將稱為永生天主之子女矣。』

謇予乃蚯蚓而非人兮。為萬民所唾棄而受天下之垢。

於是乃囑之曰：『爾曹當徧歷寰宇、宣福音於普天生靈。凡信而受洗者得救、不信者遭譴。

亦欲使異邦人民、感荷天主洪恩、而心歌腹詠焉。經云：『欲在萬民前、鼓琴詠爾名。』又云：『願爾萬邦民、咸同義塞樂。』又云：『萬邦共稱主、億兆齊頌美。』而意灑雅書亦曰：『葉瑟之根苗、掘興治萬邦；萬邦所依恃生靈所仰望。』天主乃希望之泉源、爾等信之、必得飽嘗神樂及平安、且憑聖神之力、而懷無窮之望焉。

蓋吾不以福音為恥也。福音乃天主之神力、用以救度信徒、始于猶太、爰及希臘。
