The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The dark night of evil is nearly over. The day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us get rid of the works of darkness that harm us. Let us do the works of light that protect us.

The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.

And he said to me,“ Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.

The murderer rises before it is light, that he may kill the poor and needy, and in the night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer also waits for the twilight, saying,‘ No eye will see me’; and he veils his face.In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves up; they do not know the light.For deep darkness is morning to all of them; for they are friends with the terrors of deep darkness.

In that day mankind will cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
