And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.

David cared for them with a faithful and honest heart. With skilled hands he led them.

With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand.

He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

He shepherded them with a pure heart and guided them with his skillful hands.

So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

我於天主前。立志為聖賢。吟詠惟仁義。歌誦惟所天。孳孳遵大道。兢兢莫踰閑。主肯惠然臨。我心固以貞。修身以齊家。蕩滌邪與淫。痛絕虛偽習。根拔悖逆意。傲者我莫親。讒者我所棄。惟願求賢良。與我共國事。簡拔忠實徒。充我心腹吏。行見我宮中。無復奸佞跡。挾私懷邪者。不復近我側。夙夜勉自強。殲滅諸悖逆。務使天主城。煥然成聖域。

掃羅既廢、大維繼立；天主為之證曰：「耶西子大維者深得吾心、必悉行吾旨。」

若爾中有人智慧不足、則當求之天主、終必如願以償；蓋天主賜人至厚、博愛慈祥、而不事呵叱也。

汝當努力善操聖道莫使失真、庶幾不愧為天主所悅之良工。

告爾諸賢。稱謝所天。經綸炳煥。神力無邊。仰觀俯察。音容宛然。

夫大維在世、既完成天主之旨、及其既逝、與列祖同塋、則已朽壞；

至吾儕本人、則空無所有、不足道也。吾儕之所有皆淵源於天主。不寧惟是、使吾儕足以任新約之役者、亦惟天主而已。此約也、非本乎文字、乃本乎聖神。蓋文字乃肅殺之具、而聖神則生命之源也。
