He made the great lights: His faithful love endures forever.the sun to rule by day, His faithful love endures forever.the moon and stars to rule by night. His faithful love endures forever.
Then God said,“ Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for seasons and for days and years. They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth.” And it was so.God made the two great lights— the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night— as well as the stars.God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth,to rule the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Then God said,“ Let there be light,” and there was light.God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.God called the light“ day,” and the darkness he called“ night.” There was an evening, and there was a morning: one day.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands.Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard.Their message has gone out to the whole earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun.It is like a bridegroom coming from his home; it rejoices like an athlete running a course. It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat.
