所望保吾魂。莫使淪幽冥。更望聖者身。免染朽腐痕。

because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.

You will not leave me in the place of the dead. You will not let your faithful one rot away.

For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, nor permit your Holy One to experience decay.You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’“ Brothers, I can speak confidently to you about our forefather David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.So then, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did his body experience decay.

Therefore he also says in another psalm,‘ You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.’For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, died, was buried with his ancestors, and experienced decay,but the one whom God raised up did not experience decay.Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this one forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

But God will rescue my life from the power of Sheol; certainly he will pull me to safety.( Selah)

and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive– forever and ever– and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!

Sheol below is stirred up about you, ready to meet you when you arrive. It rouses the spirits of the dead for you, all the former leaders of the earth; it makes all the former kings of the nations rise from their thrones.

The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

And in hell, as he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus at his side.

It is higher than the heavens– what can you do? It is deeper than Sheol– what can you know?

So Death will open up its throat, and open wide its mouth; Zion’s dignitaries and masses will descend into it, including those who revel and celebrate within her.

The angel replied,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.

It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable.

For a fire has been kindled by my anger, and it burns to lowest Sheol; it consumes the earth and its produce, and ignites the foundations of the mountains.

As Death and Destruction are never satisfied, so the eyes of a person are never satisfied.

If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there. If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be.

“ Seventy weeks have been determined concerning your people and your holy city to put an end to rebellion, to bring sin to completion, to atone for iniquity, to bring in perpetual righteousness, to seal up the prophetic vision, and to anoint a most holy place.

Even if they could dig down into the netherworld, my hand would pull them up from there. Even if they could climb up to heaven, I would drag them down from there.

“‘ All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he must not contact a dead body.

You must not slash your body for a dead person or incise a tattoo on yourself. I am the LORD.

Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen,“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.”“ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Death and Destruction are before the LORD– how much more the hearts of humans!

But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a man who was a murderer be released to you.You killed the Originator of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this fact we are witnesses!

“ Ha! Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are– the Holy One of God.”

The wicked are turned back and sent to Sheol; this is the destiny of all the nations that ignore God,
