Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy[ them].

所以他說要除滅他們；要不是他所揀選的摩西在他面前站在破口處，使他的怒火轉消，他早就毀掉他們了！

是以上帝有言、必翦滅之、惟所選之摩西、當其衝、立其前、挽回其怒、免行翦滅兮、

於是欲加翦滅、惟有摩西、為上帝所遴選、代民祈求、爰息震怒、不殲斯族兮、

惟時主云將翦滅之、幸有主所選之摩西、立於主前、挽回主怒、不行誅戮、

若非每瑟。為之緩頰。彼代之人。久矣絕跡。

So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.

So he said he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stood up for them. He kept God’s anger from destroying them.

He threatened to destroy them, but Moses, his chosen one, interceded with him and turned back his destructive anger.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.

Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down[ at the first]; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.

And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it[ is] a stiffnecked people:Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be[ any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who[ are] his, and[ who is] holy; and will cause[ him] to come near unto him: even[ him] whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also,[ and] the LORD would not destroy thee.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit[ it] for ever.And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

He sent Moses his servant;[ and] Aaron whom he had chosen.

Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Confess[ your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and[ that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.
