I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense.

I went by the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of one lacking sense.

I passed by the field of a lazy one, And by the vineyard of a person lacking sense,

I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;

I went by the field of the sluggard, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

I went by the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of a man lacking sense.

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of one who lacks wisdom.

以我觀之、所稼者惡、則所穡者亦若是。

吾試以所見告爾、汝其聽之。

我詳察此理、有知其不爽者、尚其聞而惺然焉。

我詳觀天下事、見有陷害同儔者、強梁既沒、出於聖京、葬於塚墓、民遂忘其所行、我觀乎此、等於捕風、惡不即罰、人專為惡。

淫人妻者、必無智慧、己之生命、因以喪亡。

義人遺棄、其裔丐食、我幼而老、未嘗見之兮、

怠惰者流、盍觀螻蟻、而法其智、彼無俟長者之命、夏時備糧、穡時斂物。惟爾懈惰思寢、何時得寤。爾束手而寢、言欲少寐、俄傾即起、不知貧乏之至、速于行旅、迅如武士。匪類惡徒、言行忤逆、以目示意、手足指點、中心頑嚚、恆謀不軌、使人爭競、故必遇災、猝然敗亡、無人援手、六惡七罪、耶和華所疾、目所視則傲慢、口所言則詭譎、手殺無辜、心謀不軌、足趨惡途、作妄証以誣人民、搆釁隙以間兄弟。

我復思天下之秉鈞者、虐遇民人、民罹其酷、靡不墮淚、慰藉無人。我竊思死者較生者為尤幸。又思未生於斯世者、未見斯人之穢行、較生而復死者、尤為幸甚。我觀世人、勞而得功、同人媢嫉、此亦捕風捉影而已。愚者束手、自取敗亡。寧寡得而宴安、毋多財而勞瘁、是皆捉影也。我遍觀天下、有一事更屬虛幻。有人塊然獨處、無兄弟子女、不與友朋交接、然亦勞苦不已、雖得貨財、不以為足、不敢自用、不知遺誰、此屬於虛、更貽後患。

事耕耘者、得果腹、從虛誕者、缺智慧。

我處塵凡、鑒觀事理、見有為義而早夭者、見有作惡而壽終者。

有智者常談至道、無智者必受扑責。

義人見此、欣然以喜、作惡者無以措詞兮。
