You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging.

You will feel like someone sleeping on the ocean. You will think you are lying among the ropes in a boat.

You will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, like one who lies on the top of a mast.

You will stagger like a sailor tossed at sea, clinging to a swaying mast.

You’ll be like someone sleeping out at sea or lying down on the top of a ship’s mast.

And you will be like one who lies down in the middle of the sea, Or like one who lies down on the top of a mast.

Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying:

Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, Or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.

You’ll be like someone sleeping out at sea or lying down on the top of a ship’s mast.

因为你们自己明确地知道，主的日子来临，就像夜里的贼来临那样。当人们正说“和平”、“安全”的时候，毁灭那时就突然临到他们，就像孕妇的临产阵痛那样，他们绝不能逃脱。不过弟兄们，你们不是在黑暗里，以致那日子像贼一样抓住你们。因为你们都是光明的儿女，白昼的儿女。我们不属于黑夜，也不属于黑暗。由此可见，我们不要像其他人那样睡着了，而要警醒、谨慎。因为睡觉的人是在夜里睡，醉酒的人是在夜里醉。

人们继续吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亚进方舟的那一天，洪水到来，把一切都毁灭了。同样，就像在罗得的那些日子里发生的那样：人们继续吃喝、买卖、耕种、建造，到了罗得离开所多玛的那一天，烈火和硫磺就从天而降，把一切都毁灭了。

于是他带大卫下去。看哪，他们分散在那整片地上，吃喝庆祝，因他们从非利士人之地和犹大地掳掠了大量的各样战利品。大卫击杀他们，从黄昏直到第二天傍晚；他们当中除了四百个骑骆驼的年轻人逃跑了以外，再没有一个人逃脱。

在洪水以前的那些日子里，人们继续吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亚进方舟的那一天。

你的见识是当受称赞的，你也当受称赞，因为你今天阻止了我流人的血，阻止了我亲手报仇。我指着那阻止我加害你的耶和华以色列神的永生起誓：要不是你赶来迎接我，到早晨天亮时，属于纳巴尔的男丁一个也不会存留！”大卫从娅比盖手中接受了她带来的东西，对她说：“平平安安地回家去吧！看，我已经听了你的话，顾及了你的情面。”娅比盖回到纳巴尔那里，看哪，他在家里摆设宴席，像王的宴席一样。纳巴尔心情好，醉得很厉害，所以娅比盖无论大事小事都没有告诉他，直到早晨天亮。到了早晨，纳巴尔酒醒后，他的妻子把这些事告诉他，他就失去了意识，身体变得硬如石头。大约过了十天，耶和华击打纳巴尔，他就死了。
