He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray.

谨守训诲的，乃在生命的道上；违弃责备的，便失迷了路。

守訓誨者乃從生命之道、棄督責者必致迷妄、或作守訓誨者示人生命之道棄督責者使人迷妄

Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

Anyone who pays attention to correction shows the path to life. But anyone who refuses to be corrected leads others down the wrong path.

Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.

People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

And say:“ How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!

But He said,“ More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke,I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes,

“ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.“ But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands;For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.

Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands?

Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

He also taught me, and said to me:“ Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,

So it was, as he talked with him, that the king said to him,“ Have we made you the king’s counselor? Cease! Why should you be killed?” Then the prophet ceased, and said,“ I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not heeded my advice.”

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.

They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke.

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your heart to my knowledge;For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; Let them all be fixed upon your lips,So that your trust may be in the Lord; I have instructed you today, even you.
