But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain. I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death.”

我不是在以色列眾族派中揀選了他們做我的祭司，上我的祭壇，燻肉香，在我面前帶着以弗得麼？又不是將以色列人所獻的火祭都賜給你祖宗的家麼？

約翰回答說：『一個人、若不是從天上給了他，他甚麼也不能得。

給亞倫和他兒子們束上長腰帶，給他們包上裹頭巾，他們就憑着永遠的條例、得祭司的職任：你要這樣授與聖職給亞倫和他兒子們。

這恩典賜給了我，竟給我這比眾聖徒最小的還小的人，叫我把基督那追尋不盡之豐富傳給外國人，

他要從永恆主面前的祭壇上拿個滿有炭火的香爐，又拿一捧搗細的芬芳香末，帶進帷帳內，在永恆主面前、將香放在火上，讓香的煙雲遮掩着法櫃上的除罪蓋，免得他死亡。他要取公牛的一點兒血，用指頭彈在除罪蓋的東面；他要用指頭把血彈在除罪蓋的前面彈七次。

這尊榮、沒有人能自取，乃是蒙上帝召者所受的，像亞倫一樣。

永恆主對亞倫說：『你在以色列人之地不可承受土地為業，在他們中間你也不可有分；在以色列人中、我就是你的分，你承受的業。』

他們要和你聯合，要守盡會棚的職守，辦理帳棚的一切事務；一切非利未族的平常人都不可走近你們。你們要守盡聖所的職守、和祭壇的職守，免得上帝的震怒再臨到以色列人。

第二幔子後面又有帳幕、那叫做至聖所的、有金香壇和四面包金的約櫃；櫃裏有盛嗎哪的金罐和亞倫發過芽的杖、和兩塊約版；櫃上面有上帝「榮現」之象徵、基路伯、覆蔭着除罪蓋的座。關於這幾件、如今不能一一分開細說。這些物件既這樣裝備齊了，第一間帳幕、祭司們不斷地進去，行盡事奉之禮。

給以色列人做記念物，叫那不是亞倫後裔的平常人不至於走近前來、在永恆主面前燒香，免得像可拉和他一黨的人那樣子：這是照永恆主由摩西經手所告訴以利亞撒的。

告訴可拉和他一黨的人說：『到了早晨，永恆主就要使人知道誰是屬他的、誰是分別為聖的、就叫誰親近他；他揀選誰，就叫誰親近他。你們要這樣行；可拉和可拉一黨的人要拿香爐來；明天你們要在永恆主面前、把火盛在爐中，把香放在上面；永恆主揀選誰，誰就分別為聖。利未子孫哪，你們過分了。』

但有些地方、我大膽地給你們寫信、做提醒你們的資料、是因從上帝那裏所賜給我的恩，使我向外國人做基督耶穌的僕役，做上帝福音的祭司，使外國人之受供獻成為可蒙悅納、在聖靈裏分別為聖的。

在帳幕前、就是在東邊、在會棚前、日出的方向紮營的、是摩西、亞倫和亞倫的兒子們、守盡聖所的職守，替以色列人盡應盡的職守；走近前來非祭司的平常人必被處死。

帳幕要往前行的時候，利未人要把它拆卸下來；帳幕要支搭的時候，利未人要把它豎起來；走近前來非利未族的平常人、必須被處死。
