‘ The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’

他就向耶和华祷告，说：“耶和华啊，这不就是我仍在本国的时候所说的吗？我知道你是有恩惠，有怜悯的神，不轻易发怒，有丰盛的慈爱，并且会改变心意，不降那灾难。我就是因为这样，才急速逃往他施去的呀！

耶和华是忌邪、报应的神。耶和华施报应，大有愤怒；耶和华向他的敌人报应，向他的仇敌怀怒。耶和华不轻易发怒，大有能力，但耶和华万不以有罪的为无罪。他的道路在旋风和暴风之中，云彩为他脚下的尘土。

耶和华有怜悯，有恩惠，不轻易发怒，且有丰盛的慈爱。

有哪一个神明像你，赦免罪孽，饶恕他产业中余民的罪过？他不永远怀怒，喜爱施恩。

如今却蒙神的恩典，藉着在基督耶稣里的救赎，就白白地得称为义。神设立耶稣作赎罪祭，是凭耶稣的血，藉着信，要显明神的义；因为他用忍耐的心宽容人先前所犯的罪，好使今时显明他的义，让人知道他自己为义，也称信耶稣的人为义。

耶和华—以色列的神论到那些牧养他百姓的牧人如此说：“你们赶散我的羊群，并未看顾他们；看哪，我必惩罚你们的恶行。这是耶和华说的。

所以，正如罪藉着死掌权；照样，恩典也藉着义掌权，使人因我们的主耶稣基督得永生。

我们藉着这爱子的血得蒙救赎，过犯得以赦免，这是照他丰富的恩典，充充足足地赏给我们的。他以诸般的智慧聪明，
