又為你的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，他們的女兒隨從她們的神，就行邪淫，使你的兒子也隨從她們的神行邪淫。

如今我將真理告訴你們，就成了你們的仇敵嗎？

以掃見以撒已經給雅各祝福，而且打發他往巴旦‧亞蘭去，在那裏娶妻，並見祝福的時候囑咐他說：「不要娶迦南的女子為妻」，又見雅各聽從父母的話往巴旦‧亞蘭去了，以掃就曉得他父親以撒看不中迦南的女子，便往以實瑪利那裏去，在他二妻之外又娶了瑪哈拉為妻。她是亞伯拉罕兒子以實瑪利的女兒，尼拜約的妹子。

寡婦或是被休的婦人，或是被污為妓的女人，都不可娶；只可娶本民中的處女為妻。
