For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.

For many years you put up with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. In spite of that, they didn’t pay any attention. So you handed them over to the nations that were around them.

Many years you bore with them and warned them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not give ear. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

In your love, you were patient with them for many years. You sent your Spirit, who warned them through the prophets. But still they wouldn’t listen! So once again you allowed the peoples of the land to conquer them.

You were patient with them for many years, and your Spirit warned them through your prophets, but they would not listen. Therefore, you handed them over to the surrounding peoples.

However, You remained patient with them for many years, And admonished them by Your Spirit through Your prophets, Yet they would not listen. Therefore You handed them over to the peoples of the lands.

「你們這些頑固不化、耳不聽心不悔的人，經常抗拒聖靈，所作所為和你們的祖先如出一轍！

誰把雅各交給了擄掠者，使以色列任人劫掠？難道不是被我們得罪的耶和華嗎？他們不肯遵行祂的道，也不聽從祂的訓誨。

基督的靈曾在他們心中指示他們，預言基督要受苦，然後得榮耀。他們便詳細查考這些事會在什麼時候、什麼情況下發生。

因為預言絕非出於人的意思，都是人受了聖靈的感動，講出上帝的信息。

還是你藐視祂深厚的慈愛、寬容和忍耐，不知道祂的慈愛是要引導你悔改嗎？

「現在，我告訴你們我會怎樣處理這葡萄園，我要除去籬笆，任它被毀壞；我要拆毀圍牆，任它被踐踏。我不再修剪，不再鋤地，也不再降雨，任由它荒廢，長滿荊棘和蒺藜。」

祂說，『我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。

耶和華實現了祂的計劃，成就了祂很久以前的應許。祂毫不留情地毀滅了你，使你的仇敵幸災樂禍，耀武揚威。

他們卻叛逆，使祂的聖靈憂傷。於是，祂與他們為敵，親自攻擊他們。

你警告他們，要使他們遵守你的律法，但他們行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章。人若遵行這典章就必存活，但他們背棄你，頑固不化，不肯聽從。

「然而，他們不順從你，背叛你，把你的律法拋在背後，又殺掉勸誡他們歸向你的眾先知，大大褻瀆了你。

耶和華藉著祂的眾先知和先見警告以色列人和猶大人說：「你們要離開惡道，遵守我的誡命和律例，即我吩咐你們祖先遵守並藉著我的僕人——眾先知傳給你們的律法。」但他們充耳不聞，像他們祖先一樣頑固不化，不信靠他們的上帝耶和華，拒絕遵守祂的律例和祂與他們祖先所立的約，無視祂的警告。他們隨從虛無的偶像，自己也變得虛無。他們違背耶和華的命令，去效法周圍的外族人。他們把他們的上帝耶和華的誡命拋諸腦後，鑄造了兩個金牛犢，還造了亞舍拉神像。他們祭拜巴力和天上的萬象，把自己的兒女燒死獻作祭物。他們占卜，行邪術，出賣自己去做耶和華視為惡的事，惹祂發怒。因此，耶和華非常憤怒，從祂面前趕走以色列人，只留下猶大一個支派。

他們祖先的上帝耶和華因為憐愛祂的子民和祂的居所，就不斷派使者來勸告他們。他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

從你們的祖先離開埃及那天起，一直到今天，我日復一日地差遣我的僕人——眾先知到你們那裡，

護衛長釋放耶利米之前對他說：「你的上帝耶和華曾說要在這裡降下災禍，現在果然應驗了。你們遭災是因為你們得罪了耶和華，不聽祂的話。

但主啊，你是有憐憫和恩典的上帝，不輕易發怒，充滿慈愛，無比信實。

他們彼此意見不一。在他們散去之前，保羅說了一句話：「聖靈藉以賽亞先知對你們祖先所說的話真是一點不錯，

耶和華屢次差遣祂的僕人——眾先知警告你們，你們卻充耳不聞，毫不理會。

你們的可憎惡行令耶和華忍無可忍，以致祂使你們的土地一片荒涼，無人居住，被人咒詛，正如今天的情形。

他們在曠野漂泊的那四十年間，上帝一直照顧、容忍他們。

你差遣你良善的靈去教導他們，沒有停止賜他們嗎哪吃，也沒有停止賜他們水喝。

主的應許還未實現，有人以為祂拖延，其實祂不是拖延，而是在寬容你們。祂不願任何人滅亡，願意人人悔改。
