The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.

All the people who had returned from the land of Babylon made booths. They lived in them during the Feast of Booths. They hadn’t celebrated the feast with so much joy for a long time. In fact, they had never celebrated it like that from the days of Joshua, the son of Nun, until that day. So their joy was very great.

And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

So everyone who had returned from captivity lived in these shelters during the festival, and they were all filled with great joy! The Israelites had not celebrated like this since the days of Joshua son of Nun.

并照摩西的规定，在安息日、朔日和每年特定的三个节期，即除酵节、七七节和住棚节献上当献的祭。

他们照律法书的记载守住棚节，每天按规定的数目献上燔祭。

所罗门和从哈马口直至埃及小河而来的全体以色列人聚成一大群会众，一起守节期七天。第八天举行庄严的聚会，又举行七天献坛礼。之后，他们又欢庆七天。七月二十三日，所罗门王让民众各回本乡。他们看见耶和华向大卫、所罗门和祂的以色列子民所施的恩惠，就满心欢喜地回家去了。

道成为肉身，住在我们中间，充满了恩典和真理。我们见过祂的荣耀，正是父独一儿子的荣耀。

那一天，他们在耶和华面前欢欢喜喜地吃喝。他们再次拥立大卫的儿子所罗门做王，在耶和华面前膏立他做首领，又膏立撒督做祭司。

自撒母耳先知以来，在以色列从来没有守过这样的逾越节，以色列从没有君王像约西亚、祭司、利未人、所有在场的犹大人和以色列人，以及耶路撒冷的居民这样守过逾越节。

在耶路撒冷的以色列人非常喜乐地守除酵节七天。利未人和祭司用响亮的乐器天天颂赞耶和华。希西迦慰劳所有善于事奉耶和华的利未人。于是，众人欢宴过节七天，又献上平安祭，称谢他们祖先的上帝耶和华。全体会众商议要再守节期七天，于是大家又欢欢喜喜地守节期七天。

他凭信心像异乡人一样寄居在上帝应许给他的地方。他住在帐篷里，与同受一个应许的以撒和雅各一样。

如果当初约书亚已经让他们得到了安息，上帝就不必另定一个日子了。

全耶路撒冷都喜气洋洋，因为自以色列王大卫的儿子所罗门时代以来，耶路撒冷从未有过这样的盛会。

这些人到死都满怀信心。他们虽然没有得到上帝所应许的，却从远处望见了，就欢喜快乐，承认自己在世上不过是寄居的异乡人。

耶和华的仆人摩西死了以后，耶和华对摩西的助手——嫩的儿子约书亚说：
