So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves temporary shelters on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim.

过了以法莲门、古门、鱼门、哈楠业楼、哈米亚楼，直到羊门，就在护卫院的门前站住。

以色列王约阿施在伯．示麦捉住了亚哈谢的孙子、约阿施的儿子犹大王亚玛谢。他们来到耶路撒冷，拆毁了耶路撒冷一段城墙，从以法莲门直到角门，共两百公尺。

他们到了泉门，就登上大卫城的台阶，随着城墙的升势，经过大卫的宫殿，走到东边的水门。

居住在俄斐勒的殿役，修筑直到东面水门对面和突出的城楼那一段墙。

攻打这城的迦勒底人必进来，放火烧城，城中的房屋都必烧光，因为这城的居民曾在那些房屋的屋顶上向巴力烧香，向别神浇奠祭，惹我发怒。

在水门前面的广场，从清早到中午，向众男女和听了能明白的人宣读出来。众民都侧耳倾听这律法书的话。

玛拿西在耶和华殿的两院中，为天上的万象筑坛，

约沙法就在犹大和耶路撒冷的会众中，站在耶和华殿的新院子前面，

‘耶路撒冷的房屋和犹大列王的宫殿，都要像陀斐特一样成为不洁；人曾在这一切房屋宫殿的屋顶上，向天上的万象烧香，向别神浇奠祭。’”

“如果你建造新房屋，要在屋顶上作栏杆；免得有人从那里跌下来，流血的罪就归到你家。

有一天近黄昏的时候，大卫从床上起来，在王宫的平顶上散步。他从平顶上看见一个妇人在洗澡；这妇人容貌非常美丽。
