我就斥责犹大的贵胄说：“你们怎么行这恶事犯了安息日呢？

我斥责犹大的贵族说：“你们为何做这恶事干犯安息日？

于是我责备犹大的贵族，对他们说：“你们怎么行这恶事，亵渎安息日呢？

我就斥責猶大的貴冑說：「你們怎麼行這惡事犯了安息日呢？

我就斥責猶大的貴族，對他們說：「你們怎麼會做這惡事干犯安息日呢！

我就斥責猶大的貴族，對他們說：「你們怎麼會做這惡事干犯安息日呢！

我斥責猶大的貴族說：「你們為何做這惡事干犯安息日？

於是我責備猶大的貴族，對他們說：“你們怎麼行這惡事，褻瀆安息日呢？

我就譴責猶大顯貴的人，對他們說：『你們行的這壞事到底是甚麼事，竟瀆犯這安息之日啊？

我斥責猶大顯者曰、爾奚行此惡、以犯安息日、

我責猶大世職曰、爾奚犯安息日、多行不義。

我斥責猶大諸顯者、謂之曰、爾行不法、犯安息日何耶、

I rebuked the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this wicked thing you are doing— desecrating the Sabbath day?

I gave a warning to the nobles of Judah. I said,“ Why are you doing such an evil thing? You are misusing the Sabbath day!

Then I confronted the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?

So I confronted the nobles of Judah.“ Why are you profaning the Sabbath in this evil way?” I asked.

I rebuked the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this evil you are doing— profaning the Sabbath day?

Then I reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this evil thing that you are doing, by profaning the Sabbath day?

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them,“ What evil thing is this that you do, by which you profane the Sabbath day?

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

I rebuked the nobles of Judah and said to them:“ What is this evil you are doing— profaning the Sabbath day?

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing[ is] this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

So I registered a complaint with the nobles of Judah, saying to them,“ What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them,“ What evil thing is this that you do, and profane the Sabbath day?

So I rebuked the officials and asked them,“ Why is the house of God neglected?” Then I called them together and stationed them at their posts. (niv)

I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said:“ You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. (niv)

Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right; (niv)

I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them,“ You are charging your own people interest!” So I called together a large meeting to deal with them (niv)

Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked, but those who heed it resist them. (niv)

Then I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice, (niv)

So I will go to the leaders and speak to them; surely they know the way of the Lord, the requirements of their God.” But with one accord they too had broken off the yoke and torn off the bonds. (niv)

‘ Hear the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne— you, your officials and your people who come through these gates.This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.But if you do not obey these commands, declares the Lord, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.’”For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah:“ Though you are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, I will surely make you like a wasteland, like towns not inhabited.I will send destroyers against you, each man with his weapons, and they will cut up your fine cedar beams and throw them into the fire.“ People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another,‘ Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’And the answer will be:‘ Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped and served other gods.’”Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss; rather, weep bitterly for him who is exiled, because he will never return nor see his native land again.For this is what the Lord says about Shallum son of Josiah, who succeeded his father as king of Judah but has gone from this place:“ He will never return.He will die in the place where they have led him captive; he will not see this land again.”“ Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labor.He says,‘ I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.’ So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red.“ Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him.He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the Lord.“ But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.”Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:“ They will not mourn for him:‘ Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’ They will not mourn for him:‘ Alas, my master! Alas, his splendor!’He will have the burial of a donkey— dragged away and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem.”“ Go up to Lebanon and cry out, let your voice be heard in Bashan, cry out from Abarim, for all your allies are crushed.I warned you when you felt secure, but you said,‘ I will not listen!’ This has been your way from your youth; you have not obeyed me.The wind will drive all your shepherds away, and your allies will go into exile. Then you will be ashamed and disgraced because of all your wickedness.You who live in‘ Lebanon,’ who are nestled in cedar buildings, how you will groan when pangs come upon you, pain like that of a woman in labor! (niv)

Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah! (niv)

Say to the king and to the queen mother,“ Come down from your thrones, for your glorious crowns will fall from your heads.” (niv)

God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the“ gods”:“ How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? (niv)
