And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

And after these things Joseph of Arimathæa, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took away his body.

But the Jews urged on the devout women of honorable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who can be saved?Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders,if we this day are examined concerning a good deed done to an impotent man, by what means this man is made whole;be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole.He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
