主若不減其時日、則血氣之倫、將無遺孑！惟為選民之故、主必減之耳。

以福音而論、若輩固因爾之故、而為天主之悖逆矣；若就簡選論之、則若輩托祖宗餘蔭依然為天主之所親也。夫天主之恩賜寵召、必無後悔。適如曩日爾曹未順天主、今乃緣義塞人之不順、而蒙矜恤；若輩今雖未順、亦當緣爾曹之蒙矜恤、而蒙矜恤也。蓋天主將一切世人歸納於不順之中者、亦欲示一切世人以矜恤云耳。

且彼等若能幡然去其狐疑之心、則亦必蒙接入；蓋天主固能重接之也。夫爾本野欖且得勉強接於真欖、況以真欖之枝接於真欖、將不更為易易乎？

於今亦然、固尚有蒙恩簡者存焉。雖然、既曰蒙恩、則不復憑業；不然、恩將失其所以為恩矣。然則如何？曰：義塞之所求、未之得也、其中蒙恩者得之、而其餘則已成麻木不仁之徒矣。
