胡為視爾兄弟目中有草芥、而不覺己目中有梁木乎、

且夫兄弟目中有草芥、爾視之、而己目中有粱木、不自覺、何歟、

爾兄弟目中有草芥、爾見之、而己目中有梁木不自覺、何歟、

何察察於兄弟目中之纖芥、而不見自己目中之巨木乎？

“ Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

“ You look at the bit of sawdust in your friend’s eye. But you pay no attention to the piece of wood in your own eye.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

“ And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?

Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye?

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

可是當他們不停地追問耶穌的時候，耶穌就直起身來，對他們說：「你們當中誰沒有罪，誰就先用石頭砸她吧！」然後他又彎下腰去，繼續在地上寫字。他們聽了這話，從年長的開始，一個接一個地走開了。最後，只剩下耶穌和那站在中間的婦人。

弟兄們，一個人無論被任何過犯所勝，你們屬靈的人都要以溫柔的心靈把這樣的人挽回過來；但是你自己要留心，免得你也受試探。

「你為什麼看見你弟兄眼裡的木屑，卻不想自己眼裡的梁木呢？你看不見自己眼裡的梁木，怎麼能對你弟兄說『弟兄啊，讓我除掉你眼裡的木屑』呢？你這偽善的人！先除掉你自己眼裡的梁木，然後你才能看得清楚，好除掉你弟兄眼裡的木屑。

大衛就因那人非常惱火，他對拿單說：「我指著耶和華的永生起誓：做這事的人，實在該死！他必須為小母羊賠償四倍，因為他做了這事，毫無憐恤之心。」

那法利賽人站著，向自己禱告這些話：『神哪，我感謝你，因為我不像其他人那樣：勒索、不義、通姦，也不像這個稅吏。

但神對惡人說：「你憑什麼講述我的律例，口中提起我的約呢？實際上，你恨惡管教，把我的話語丟在身後。你看見竊賊時，就喜悅與他在一起，你又與通姦的人一同有份。你讓你的口發出惡言，讓你的舌編造謊話。你坐著說話攻擊你的弟兄，毀謗你母親的兒子。你做了這些，我還保持沉默；你就以為我完全像你一樣；其實我要責備你，並且把這些擺列在你眼前。
