Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

慎勿於人前施濟、故令人見、若然、則不獲爾天父之賞、

爾其慎旃。施濟行善、不可徇人耳目；不然、不能望報於爾在天之父矣。

“ Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“ Be careful not to do good deeds in front of other people. Don’t do those deeds to be seen by others. If you do, your Father in heaven will not reward you.

“ Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

“ Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.

“ Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in heaven.

“ Take care not to practice your righteousness in the sight of people, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

“ Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

For God[ is] not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites[ are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee[ as] my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love,[ but] their heart goeth after their covetousness.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and[ of] the leaven of Herod.

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that[ cometh] from God only?

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

( As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for[ your] food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in[ yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh[ month], even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me,[ even] to me?

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation[ of the gospel] is committed unto me.What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done[ it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done[ it] unto me.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold[ water] only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let[ them] slip.

And it shall come to pass in that day,[ that] the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
