耶穌諭之曰：『外邦之君、壓制其民；秉權者稱為恩主。汝曹勿爾！最大者當如最幼、領導者當為僕役。夫坐席者與侍奉者孰大？非坐席者乎？然予在爾中、則如侍奉者也。

耶穌召而諭之曰：『爾知外邦之君、奴視其民；其大臣擅作威福。爾等切莫如是、爾中孰願為尊、當為爾役；孰願為首、當為爾僕。正如人子之來、非以役人、乃為人役、且捨其生以為眾人之贖焉。』

濯足既畢、復披衣登席、而諭徒曰：『予適所行、爾知其意否？爾呼予曰「師」曰「主、」爾言當矣、予固是也。然予以師以主之身、猶且濯爾之足、則爾等亦宜互為濯足矣。予以身作則、望爾效之。予剴切告爾、僕不能大於其主、奉命者不能大於授命者。爾既知此理苟能躬行而實踐之、則樂在其中矣。

耶穌召而諭之曰：『外邦所謂民牧者、以民為奴；而為大臣者、擅作威福。

『吾實告爾爾若不幡然化為赤子、則末由進天國。故惟自謙自小若此孩者、斯天國中之大人也。

爾其承我之軛、效我之謙遜克己、則爾必得心曠神怡；
