“ Do not stop him,” Jesus said,“ for whoever is not against you is for you.”

The one who is not with Me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.

Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from goodwill;the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel;the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, thinking that they are causing me distress in my imprisonment.What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. But not only that, I also will rejoice,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”

And he said to them,‘ An enemy has done this!’ The slaves* said to him,‘ Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’But he* said,‘ No; while you are gathering up the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers,“ First gather up the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

When Peter said,“ From strangers,” Jesus said to him,“ Then the sons are exempt.

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.

So the men of Israel took some of their provisions, and did not ask for the counsel of the Lord.

Now when they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two drachma tax came to Peter and said,“ Does your teacher not pay the two drachma tax?”
