日头快要平西，十二个门徒来对他说：“请叫众人散开，他们好往四面乡村里去借宿找吃的，因为我们这里是野地。”

Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said,“ Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

Late in the afternoon the 12 disciples came to him. They said,“ Send the crowd away. They can go to the nearby villages and countryside. There they can find food and a place to stay. There is nothing here.”

Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said,“ Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to him,“ Send the crowd away, so that they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came up and said to Him,“ Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; because here, we are in a secluded place.”

When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to Him,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

耶穌一句話也不回應，他的門徒們上前來求他，說：「這婦人一直跟在我們後面喊叫，請讓她走吧。」

他們說反對神的話：「難道神能夠在曠野中擺設筵席嗎？看哪，雖然他曾擊打磐石、使水湧出、溪流漫溢，難道他還能夠賜下糧食嗎？還能為自己的子民預備肉嗎？」

天已經晚了，他的門徒們來到耶穌面前，說：「這是個荒僻的地方，而且天已經晚了。請遣散大家，好讓他們到周圍的田舍和村莊去，為自己買些東西吃。」但耶穌回答他們，說：「你們給他們吃的吧。」門徒們說：「要我們去買兩百個銀幣的餅給他們吃嗎？」耶穌問他們：「你們有多少餅呢？去看看。」他們察看後，就說：「有五個，還有兩條魚。」耶穌吩咐他們，叫眾人一組一組地坐在青草地上。眾人就一群一群地坐了下來，有的一百人，有的五十人。耶穌拿起這五個餅和兩條魚，抬頭望天，祝福了，然後把餅掰開，不斷遞給他的門徒們，讓他們分給眾人。他把兩條魚也分給大家。大家都吃了，並且吃飽了。他們把餅和魚的碎塊收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。吃餅的人，男人就有五千。

黃昏的時候，門徒們來到耶穌面前，說：「這是個荒僻的地方，而且天已經晚了。請遣散人群，好讓他們到村莊去為自己買些食物。」但耶穌說：「他們不需要離開，你們給他們吃的吧。」門徒們對耶穌說：「我們這裡除了五個餅和兩條魚，就沒有什麼了。」耶穌說：「拿到我這裡來。」於是耶穌吩咐眾人坐在草地上，就拿起這五個餅和兩條魚，抬頭望天，祝福了，然後掰開餅，遞給門徒們，他們又分給眾人。大家都吃了，並且吃飽了。他們把剩下的碎塊收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。吃的人，不算婦女和孩子，約有五千。

耶穌召來他的門徒們，說：「我憐憫這群人，因為他們與我在一起已經三天了，也沒有什麼東西吃。我不願意讓他們餓著肚子回去，恐怕他們在路上暈倒。」

耶穌舉目觀看，見一大群人向他走來，就對腓力說：「我們從哪裡買餅給這些人吃呢？」他說這話是要試試腓力，其實他自己已經知道要做什麼了。腓力回答：「就是兩百個銀幣的餅，也不夠每個人吃一小塊！」他的一個門徒，就是西門彼得的弟弟安得烈，對耶穌說：「這裡有個孩子，帶了五個大麥餅和兩條魚。可是對這麼多人，這些算什麼呢？」耶穌說：「讓他們坐下來。」那地方草多，他們坐了下來；男人的數目約有五千。耶穌就拿起餅來，祝謝以後，分給那些坐著的人，把魚也如此分了，他們要多少就給多少。大家吃飽了以後，耶穌就對他的門徒們說：「把剩下的碎塊收拾起來，免得浪費。」他們就把大家吃剩的那五個大麥餅的碎塊收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。眾人看見耶穌所行的神蹟，就說：「這個人確實是那位要來到世上的先知！」耶穌看出他們要來強迫他做王，就又獨自退到山上去了。

這些事以後，耶穌渡過加利利湖，也就是太巴列湖，到對岸去。
