眾百姓和稅吏已受過約翰的洗，聽見這話，就以神為義；

( All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.

All the people who heard Jesus’ words agreed that God’s way was right. Even the tax collectors agreed. These people had all been baptized by John.

( When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John,

也有稅吏來要受洗，對他說：「老師，我們該做甚麼呢？」

而智慧是由所有智慧的人來證實的。」

他們唱神僕人摩西的歌和羔羊的歌，說：「主－全能的神啊，你的作為又偉大又奇妙！萬國之王啊，你的道路又公義又真實！

絕對不會！不如說，神是真實的，而人都是虛謊的。如經上所記：「以致你責備的時候顯為公義；你被指控的時候一定勝訴。」我姑且照着人的看法來說，我們的不義若顯出神的義來，我們要怎麼說呢？神降怒是他不義嗎？絕對不是！若是這樣，神怎能審判世界呢？

這人已經在主的道路上受了訓練，心裏火熱，精確地講論和教導耶穌的事；可是他只知道約翰的洗禮。

我向你犯罪，惟獨得罪了你，在你眼前行了這惡，以致你責備的時候顯為公義，判斷的時候顯為清白。

保羅說：「這樣，你們受的是甚麼洗呢？」他們說：「是受了約翰的洗。」

這兩個兒子是哪一個照着父親的意願做了呢？」他們說：「大兒子。」耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，稅吏和娼妓倒比你們先進神的國。因為約翰到你們這裏來指引你們走義路，你們卻不信他，稅吏和娼妓倒信了他。你們看見了以後，還是不悔悟去信他。」

我聽見掌管眾水的天使說：「昔在、今在的聖者啊，你做的判斷公義；

因為不明白神的義，想要立自己的義，他們就不服神的義了。

那時，耶路撒冷、全猶太和全約旦河地區的人，都到約翰那裏去，承認他們的罪，在約旦河裏受他的洗。

亞多尼‧比色說：「從前有七十個王，大拇指和大腳趾都被我砍斷，在我桌子底下拾取零碎食物。現在神照着我所做的報應我了。」他們把亞多尼‧比色帶到耶路撒冷，他就死在那裏。
