他们凭一句话就定人的罪，给城门口的裁决者设下网罗，又用虚无的事屈枉义人。

恶人窥伺义人，寻机置他于死地；但耶和华必不将他离弃在恶人的手中；在审判的时候，也不定他有罪。

他们问：“他对你做了什么？怎么开了你的眼睛？”他回答：“我已经告诉过你们，你们不听，为什么现在又想听呢？难道你们也想成为他的门徒吗？”他们就辱骂他，说：“你才是那个人的门徒！我们是摩西的门徒！我们知道神对摩西说过话，至于这个人，我们就不知道他是从哪里来的！”

那些寻索我命的设下圈套，那些寻机加害我的口吐威吓，他们终日思想诡计。

法利赛人中的有些人说：“那个人不是从神那里来的，因为他不守安息日。”有些人却说：“一个罪人怎么能行这样的神迹呢？”他们之间就产生了分裂。

所以那些犹太人对那得了痊愈的人说：“今天是安息日，你拿着垫子是不可以的！”他就回答：“是那个使我痊愈的人对我说‘拿起你的垫子走路吧。’”他们问：“对你说‘拿起垫子走路’的那个人是谁？”那得了痊愈的人并不知道他是谁，因为那里有一群人，而耶稣已经抽身离去了。这些事以后，耶稣在圣殿里找到他，对他说：“看，你已经痊愈了。不要再犯罪，免得更严重的事临到你。”那个人就去向那些犹太人报告说，使他痊愈的是耶稣。那些犹太人之所以逼迫耶稣，是因为他在安息日做这些事。
