『曩有二人、偕登聖殿祈禱；一為法利塞人、一為稅吏。

申初祈禱、伯鐸祿若望入聖殿。

眾與稅吏、咸受洗於如望、聞其言莫不稱頌天主至德；惟法利塞與律學士輩、獨不受其洗、是亦辜負天主之宏謨而已矣。』

『經云：吾宅乃祈禱之所、爾曹竟以之為盜窟矣。』

彼倘肯作證、必知予自幼遵奉吾教中最嚴格之一宗、固法利塞也。

葆樂察知會眾半為撒都責半為法利塞、乃揚聲而言曰：『兄弟！予乃法利塞人、亦法利塞人之子孫也！予今受審、乃以翹企死者復活。』作是語畢、法利塞人與撒杜責人遂起爭論、會眾析而為二；以撒杜責人言無復活、亦無天神與神靈、而法利塞人則言二者皆有；

予生八日、即受割禮；以血統論、固義塞人也、屬於便雅明支派、而出於希伯萊人之希伯萊人也。以律法論、固法利塞人也

循司祭例掣籤、得進聖殿獻香。獻香時、民眾禱於外。
