「可是亞伯拉罕對他說：『如果他們不聽從摩西和先知們，就算有人從死人中復活，他們也不會被說服的。』

亞伯漢曰：「不聽摩西與先知、縱死者復活亦不可勸化矣。」

“ He said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ Abraham said to him,‘ They do not listen to Moses and the Prophets. So they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

He said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

He replied to him,‘ If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

於是他們和保羅定好了日子，就有更多的人來到他的住所。保羅從早到晚對他們講解，為神的國鄭重地做見證，並且引用摩西的律法和先知書上有關耶穌的事來勸導他們。

但如果我們的福音真的被遮蓋了，也是在那些正滅亡的人中被遮蓋的。

阿格里帕對保羅說：「你用幾句話就要說服我成為基督徒嗎？」

保羅進了會堂，放膽傳道，一連三個月講論並勸導人相信那些有關神國的事。

既然如此，我們因為知道敬畏主，就勸導人。我們在神面前是顯明的，但我希望在你們的良心裡，也是顯明的。

於是祭司長們就商議，連拉撒路也要殺掉，因為有許多猶太人為了拉撒路的緣故，離開他們，信了耶穌。

耶穌說了這些話，就大聲呼喚：「拉撒路，出來！」那死了的人就出來了；手腳纏著布條，臉上包著頭巾。耶穌對他們說：「解開他，讓他走！」來到瑪麗亞那裡的許多猶太人，看到耶穌所做的事，就信了耶穌。然而，其中有些人到法利賽人那裡去，向他們報告耶穌所行的事。於是祭司長們和法利賽人召集了議會，說：「這個人行了很多神蹟，我們該做什麼呢？如果任憑他這樣下去，大家都會信他，羅馬人就會來，奪取我們的聖地和國家！」其中有一個人叫該亞法，是當年的大祭司，對他們說：「你們什麼都不懂！也不想一想，一個人替民眾死，免得全民族滅亡，這對你們是有益處的。」他說這話不是出於自己，只因他是當年的大祭司，就預言了耶穌要替全民族而死；而且不僅是替猶太民族死，也是要把神的那些四散的兒女都召集合一。從那天起，他們就商議要把耶穌殺掉。

願神使雅弗擴張，使他住在閃的帳篷中；願迦南作雅弗的奴僕。」
