『天國譬諸君王為其子設婚筵；遣僕速被柬者赴讌、皆不至；乃遣他僕曰：「告被柬者我已備筵、宰牛殺牲、百物畢具、請來參與嘉禮。」皆置若罔聞、各行其路、或赴田莊、或赴市場、餘人且執其僕、辱而殺之！君王聞之震怒、發兵進討、殲其眾、火其居。乃謂其僕曰：「婚筵既備、而被邀者無德以稱。可往通衢大街、儘爾所遇、邀之來宴。」僕遂出赴街中盡集所遇、無聞善惡、賓客滿堂。王入視客、見一人無禮服、謂之曰：「友、無禮服安得入此？」其人默然。王乃謂侍者曰：「縛其手足、投之幽獄、必有哀哭切齒者矣。」蓋見召者眾、而蒙選者寡也。』
