Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

凡不背着自己十字架跟从我的，也不能作我的门徒。

凡不背着自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不能作我的门徒。

And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Whoever doesn’t carry their cross and follow me can’t be my disciple.

Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.

And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

And He was saying to them all,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it.For what good does it do a person if he gains the whole world, but loses or forfeits himself?

Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him,“ One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?For what could a person give in exchange for his soul?

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying,“ It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.”

Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately he falls away.

For this reason I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to protect what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, carrying His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called, Golgotha.

And they* compelled a passer by coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene( the father of Alexander and Rufus), to carry His cross.
