I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.

耶穌講了一個比喻來教導門徒要常常禱告，不要灰心。祂說：「某城有一位既不敬畏上帝也不尊重人的審判官。那城裡有一位寡婦常常來哀求這位審判官，說，『求你為我伸冤，懲辦我的對頭。』審判官總是充耳不聞，但後來心裡想，『雖然我不怕上帝，也不在乎人，可是這寡婦一直來煩我，還是替她伸冤好了，免得她再來煩我！』」主接著說：「你們聽，這不義的審判官尚且這麼說，難道上帝聽到祂揀選的人晝夜呼求，不替他們伸冤嗎？難道祂會一直耽延不理嗎？我告訴你們，祂必很快為他們伸冤。不過當人子來的時候，在世上找得到有信心的人嗎？」

那人說：「天亮了，讓我走吧！」但雅各說：「你不祝福我，我就不讓你走。」

弟兄姊妹，我藉著我們主耶穌基督和聖靈所賜的愛心，懇求你們與我一同竭力禱告，為我祈求上帝，

那地方有個迦南的婦人前來大聲懇求耶穌：「主啊！大衛的後裔啊！可憐我吧！我的女兒被鬼附身，受盡折磨！」耶穌卻一言不發。門徒上前求祂說：「請讓她走吧！她老是在後面喊叫。」耶穌說：「我奉差遣只是來尋找以色列家迷失的羊。」那婦人上前跪下，說：「主啊！求你幫幫我吧！」耶穌答道：「把兒女的食物丟給狗吃，實在說不過去。」婦人說：「主啊，沒錯，可是狗也吃主人飯桌上掉下來的碎渣呀！」耶穌說：「婦人，你的信心真大！我答應你的要求。」就在那一刻，她女兒就好了。

來自你們那裡、作基督耶穌奴僕的以巴弗弟兄問候你們。他常常懇切地為你們禱告，好使你們信心堅定，生命成熟，深知上帝一切的旨意。

我曾三次祈求主叫這根刺離開我，
