然而，祂被压伤、受痛苦是耶和华的旨意；祂的性命作了赎罪祭。祂必看见自己的后裔，祂必长久活着。耶和华的旨意必在祂手中实现。

耶稣回答说：“‘你要全心、全情、全意爱主——你的上帝’，

有火从耶和华那里降下来，烧尽祭坛上的燔祭和脂肪。民众看见这景象，都欢呼起来，俯伏在地。

献祭者要从平安祭中献上火祭给耶和华。他要取出遮盖内脏的脂肪和内脏上的脂肪、两个肾脏和肾脏上靠近腰部的脂肪以及肝叶。祭司要把这一切放在祭坛燃烧的木柴上和燔祭一起焚烧，作为蒙耶和华悦纳的馨香火祭。

所罗门因所造的铜坛太小，容不下燔祭、素祭和脂肪，就把耶和华殿前院子中间的地方分别出来，作圣洁之地，在那里献上燔祭和平安祭祭牲的脂肪。

要像焚烧平安祭牲的脂肪一样，把羊的所有脂肪都放在坛上焚烧。这样，祭司为他赎了罪，他就会得到赦免。
