第五年你們才可以喫它的果子，好叫它給你們增加出產：我永恆主是你們的上帝。

第五年，你们要吃那树上的果子，好叫树给你们结果子更多。我是耶和华你们的神。

But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.

你們向慕着多，你看，卻得的少；你們收到家裏，我給吹去。為甚麼？萬軍之永恆主發神諭說：因為我的殿荒廢，而你們各人卻逕為自己的房屋奔跑啊。故此、為了你們的緣故、天就停降雨露，地也停生土產。我呼叫乾旱臨到了地上山岡，臨到了五穀、新酒、新油、和土地的出產，臨到了人類、牲口、以及人手所勞碌得來的一切東西。』

『你們若遵行我的律例，謹守我的誡命而實行它，我就按時給你們霖雨，地就生出土產，田野的樹木就結果子。

將你的糧食撒在水面上吧，日久你就有所得。將業分分給七人或八人吧；因為你不知道將來會有甚麼災禍臨到地上。

『這殿荒廢無鑲蓋，而你們自己倒住在有鑲蓋的房屋：難道這就是這樣作的時候麼？如今萬軍之永恆主這麼說：你們要用心想想你們所行的。你們撒種，倒撒的多，收入的卻少；你們喫，卻喫不飽；喝，卻喝不足；有得穿，卻穿不暖；得了工錢，卻把工錢裝到刺破的口袋裏！

現在你們要用心想想：從今日起，從這九月二十四日起，從永恆主殿堂根基奠定這一日起，你們請用心想想：倉裏雖還沒有穀種閒着，葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹、雖都還沒結實，從今日起、我必賜福與你們了。』

人怎可搶奪上帝之物呢？你們呢、竟搶奪了獻與我之物！卻還問說：「我們在甚麼事上搶奪了獻與你之物呢？」那就是當納的十分之一和當奉的獻物啊。你們被咒詛所咒詛，是因為你們、你們全國的人、搶奪的乃是我！你們將當納的十分之一全部送入倉庫，使我殿中有糧吧！並這樣試試我、萬軍之永恆主說，看我會不會給你們敞開天閘，將祝福給你們傾倒下來，直到有餘無缺。

要用你的財物敬奉永恆主，用你一切初熟的出產敬奉上帝；那你的倉房就必充滿有餘，你的酒池也必噴出新酒。
