What I see brings pain to my spirit. All the women of my city are mourning.

因我本城的众民，我的眼，使我的心伤痛。

为我城中的百姓，我眼所见的使我心痛。

为我城中的百姓，我眼所见的使我心痛。

目睹城中妇女的遭遇，我痛苦不已。

因眼见我城中众民的遭遇，我的心很痛苦。

因我本城的眾民，我的眼，使我的心傷痛。

為我城中的百姓，我眼所見的使我心痛。

為我城中的百姓，我眼所見的使我心痛。

目睹城中婦女的遭遇，我痛苦不已。

因眼見我城中眾民的遭遇，我的心很痛苦。

我的眼使我傷痛，都因我本城眾民的緣故。

緣我邑中諸女、觸目而傷心兮、

邑民淪喪、我淚盈睫、至於患疾兮。

我為我邑之諸女、心傷目痛、心傷目痛或作我目之淚使我心傷

What I see brings grief to my soul because of all the women of my city.

my eyes cause me grief at the fate of all the daughters of my city.

My heart is breaking over the fate of all the women of Jerusalem.

My eyes bring me grief because of the fate of all the women in my city.

My eyes bring pain to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.

My eyes bring suffering to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.

Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

My eyes bring me grief because of the fate of all the women in my city.

Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

What my eyes see grieves me– all the suffering of the daughters in my city.צ( Tsade)

My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

“ Young people and old people alike lie dead in the dust of my streets. My young men and women have been killed by swords. You killed them when you were angry. You put them to death without pity.

He approached Jerusalem. When he saw the city, he began to weep.He said,“ I wish you had known today what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes.The days will come when your enemies will arrive. They will build a wall of dirt up against your city. They will surround you and close you in on every side.You didn’t recognize the time when God came to you. So your enemies will smash you to the ground. They will destroy you and all the people inside your walls. They will not leave one stone on top of another.”

David and his men reached Ziklag. They saw that it had been destroyed by fire. They found out that their wives and sons and daughters had been captured.So David and his men began to weep out loud. They wept until they couldn’t weep anymore.

How can I go back to my father if the boy isn’t with me? No! Don’t let me see the pain and suffering that would come to my father.”

Suppose I go into the country. Then I see people who have been killed by swords. Or suppose I go into the city. Then I see people who have died of hunger. Prophet and priest alike have gone to a land they hadn’t known about before.’ ”

I’m suffering! I’m really suffering! I’m hurting badly. My heart is suffering so much! It’s pounding inside me. I can’t keep silent. I’ve heard the sound of trumpets. I’ve heard the battle cry.One trouble follows another. The whole land is destroyed. In an instant my tents are gone. My home disappears in a moment.How long must I look at our enemy’s battle flag? How long must I hear the sound of the trumpets?

Jerusalem says,“ The Lord always does what is right. But I refused to obey his commands. Listen, all you nations. Pay attention to how much I’m suffering. My young men and women have been taken away as prisoners.

Our women have been treated badly in Zion. Our virgins have been treated badly in the towns of Judah.

I will make the people of this city eat their sons and daughters. And they will eat one another. They will do this because things will be so bad during the attack. The enemies who want to take their lives will bring all this trouble on them.” ’

So the Lord who rules over all says,“ I will punish them. Their young men will be killed by swords. Their sons and daughters will die of hunger.

And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem. They will die because of hunger and war. No one will bury them. No one will bury their wives and children. I will pour out trouble on them. That is exactly what they should get.
