You have been cut down to the earth, You who defeated the nations!But you said in your heart,‘ I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.

In Tehaphnehes the day will be dark When I break there the yoke bars of Egypt. Then the pride of her power will cease in her; A cloud will cover her, And her daughters will go into captivity.

And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

Exalt the Lord our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He.

You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and have not spared.You have veiled Yourself with a cloud So that no prayer can pass through.

Moreover, they transformed the splendor of His jewels into pride, and they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an abhorrent thing to them.And I will hand it over to the foreigners as plunder, and to the wicked of the earth as spoils; and they will profane it.I will also turn My face away from them, and they will profane My treasure; then robbers will enter and profane it.

How lonely sits the city That once had many people! She has become like a widow Who was once great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces Has become a forced laborer!

‘ Speak to the house of Israel,“ This is what the Lord God says:‘ Behold, I am about to profane My sanctuary, the pride of your power, that which is precious in your eyes and the longing of your soul; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!

And when I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you And will set darkness on your land,” Declares the Lord God.

And He said to them,“ I watched Satan fall from heaven like lightning.

And she named the boy Ichabod, saying,“ The glory has departed from Israel,” because the ark of God had been taken and because of her father in law and her husband.
