Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

Joshua spoke to all the people. He said,“ The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Long ago your people lived east of the Euphrates River. They worshiped other gods there. Your people included Terah. He was the father of Abraham and Nahor.

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods.

Joshua said to the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River, and they worshiped other gods.

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,[ even] Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.

Joshua told all the people,“ Here is what the LORD God of Israel says:‘ In the distant past your ancestors lived beyond the Euphrates River, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor. They worshiped other gods,

Joshua said to all the people,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor. They served other gods.

他们把所有外族的神像和自己的耳环都交给雅各，雅各把这些东西埋在示剑的橡树下。

那时拉班正在外面剪羊毛，拉结偷了父亲的家庭神像。

你们要追想你们的祖先亚伯拉罕和生你们的撒拉。我呼召亚伯拉罕的时候，他是孤身一人，但我赐福给他，使他子孙众多。

你们要在你们的上帝耶和华面前宣告，‘我们的祖先原是到处流浪的亚兰人。他到埃及寄居时，家中人丁稀少，后来成为人口众多的强大民族。

你要告诉她，主耶和华这样对她说，‘你祖居迦南，生于迦南。你的父亲是亚摩利人，母亲是赫人。

至于你的神像，你在谁身上搜出来，谁就是该死的。你可以当着众弟兄的面察看，如果在我这里有什么物件是你的，你只管拿走。”雅各不知道拉结偷走了神像。

他拉七十岁后，生了亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰。以下是他拉的后代。他拉生亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰，哈兰生罗得。哈兰比他父亲他拉先去世，他死在自己的家乡——迦勒底的吾珥。亚伯兰和拿鹤都娶了妻子，亚伯兰的妻子名叫撒莱，拿鹤的妻子名叫密迦，是哈兰的女儿。哈兰是密迦和亦迦的父亲。撒莱不能生育，没有孩子。他拉带着儿子亚伯兰、孙子——哈兰的儿子罗得、儿媳妇——亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，离开迦勒底的吾珥前往迦南，他们来到哈兰定居下来。他拉在那里去世，享年二百零五岁。耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要离开家乡、亲族和父亲的家，到我要指示你的地方去。
