If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

“我若以黄金为指望，对精金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若以黄金为我的指望，对纯金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若以黄金为我的指望，对纯金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若仰仗金子，依靠纯金，

我若以黄金为我所信靠的，又对精金说：‘你是我所靠赖的’；

我若以黃金為指望，對精金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若以黃金為我的指望，對純金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若以黃金為我的指望，對純金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若仰仗金子，依靠純金，

我若以黃金為我所信靠的，又對精金說：‘你是我所靠賴的’；

『我若以金子為我所安心信賴的，而對黃金說：「你是我所倚靠」；

我若惟金是望、謂精金曰、爾為我之所恃、

我不以金為寶、亦不以兼金為可恃。

何曾以金為望、何曾云精金為我所恃、

“ If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security,’

“ Suppose I’ve put my trust in gold. I’ve said to pure gold,‘ You make me feel secure.’

“ If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my confidence,

“ Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold?

“ If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust,

“ If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold,‘ You are my confidence’;

If I have made gold my hope, And have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold,[ Thou art] my confidence;

“ If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security!’

“ If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold,‘ You are my confidence;’

Anyone trusting in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.

The wealth of the rich is his fortified city; the poverty of the poor is their destruction.

They trust in their wealth and boast of their abundant riches.Yet these cannot redeem a person or pay his ransom to God—

“ Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior.”

He then told them,“ Watch out and be on guard against all greed, because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”

Now Jacob heard what Laban’s sons were saying:“ Jacob has taken all that was our father’s and has built this wealth from what belonged to our father.”

Place no trust in oppression or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, don’t set your heart on it.

Otherwise, I might have too much and deny you, saying,“ Who is the LORD?” or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

The disciples were astonished at his words. Again Jesus said to them,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

For when he dies, he will take nothing at all; his wealth will not follow him down.

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.

When you eat and are full, and build beautiful houses to live in,and your herds and flocks grow large, and your silver and gold multiply, and everything else you have increases,be careful that your heart doesn’t become proud and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.
